Some of us aren't lucky enough to have found Irish dancing when we were young. Yet we still found our way into dancing, and have started competing. Late starters can have big dreams, and they have the ability to live them.

I hope that maybe by the time I graduate high school I can make it international for some feis :)))

Comment by Deirdre F. on September 24, 2011 at 6:36pm: @Clare, thanks! :) I practice every day or every other day so I make sure I get my technique down well, pointed toes on hop2-3's, kick bum on overs, point back foot, etc etc. My hop2-3's could be higher though. They aren't the best, I will admit that haha. I know all of the single jig now. :) when I practice I do both dances so I don't confuse them with each other and do different steps that belong in another dance, lol!

@Deirdre That's more than a 'good start,' that's 'learning at lightspeed,' at least by my standards! It took me a month before I started to learn the basic reel step my school teaches first. Just make sure you're doing everything as well as you possibly can, and not trying to learn too much in too little time. Great job, keep it up!
