Some of us aren't lucky enough to have found Irish dancing when we were young. Yet we still found our way into dancing, and have started competing. Late starters can have big dreams, and they have the ability to live them.

I think the title pretty much explains it all: what are your Irish dancing-related goals? Long-term, short-term, and anything in between. :) Feel free to share as much as you'd like! Here's mine: 1.…Continue

Comment by Susanna Moore on September 16, 2012 at 4:34am Susanna, your name sounds familiar, I think I've probably competed against you before. I'm from Arkansas and I compete in the same age group, soft shoe in opw and hard shoe in novice.
Good luck at your feis! What results do you need to go to oireachtas?

Comment by Gaueko on August 8, 2012 at 12:40pm I'm 27 and start now with Irish Dance... more or less, because I tried two years ago but left it in "pause" because my nearest school is more or less 800kms far...
But now I return to Irish Dance and my goals are:
1- Try hard, work myself (and with the advices of my teacher by internet) and work enough hours a week.
2- Try to go the next year to the city where I have my Irish Dance classes, work hard and compete!
3- My big goal is, someday in the future, teach Irish Dance here where I'm from :)
I'm sure a lot of people will like it! Here we dance our dances and somethings are quite similar!
Comment by Haley Holmquist on March 24, 2012 at 3:14pm My goals are to move out of novice for hornpipe(If I'm all prizewinner I might get to go to oireachtas. Last time my teacher let people that were all pw and up go) and to get a first in each pw dance by the end of 2012. Good Luck to all with their goals!!!!!
Comment by Jacque (Happy Feet) on December 26, 2011 at 8:59am I didn't start dance terribly late...I started when I was in 4th grade, but I quit in 5th grade, was off for about 4 years, and started back up last month, my 10th grade year in high school. I hope that maybe by the time I graduate high school I can make it international for some feis :)))

Comment by Clare Jeffcock on November 18, 2011 at 3:45am Awesome, congrats! As long as you don't do what I did at my first feis, you'll be fine. :)
