I've been dancing the traditional dance from Provence (South of France) for at least 16 years, but I've only started Irish Dancing 6 months ago.

Hi Laurent,

I´m far away from Oireachtas level aswell. Don´t think I will ever get there, too old haha.

But here in Mainland Europe there are alongside the qualifiers competitions for all levels. So it is usually the biggest feis of the year in Mainland Europe where you meet and compete against dancers from all over Europe ( except Ireland and UK). It´s a nice experience.

Good luck with your grade exams! Let me know how you did.

The first time I did grads I did aswell grade 1 and 2. The second time I did 3 and 4. Unfortunately our school does not do them anymore. I think because disclining interest at the second time. Sometimes you would have the possibility to do them during bigger competitions like European Oireachtas, but I find it a bit too much to concentrate, prepare and practice for both competition and grade dances. Sometimes they interfer even time wise.
