Profile Information

I am a ...: Teacher, Dancer

About me: I have been dancing since the age of 6, competed until the age of 16, highest placing was 4th in the Worlds.. Then toured with Riverdance and now teaching in the Tir na nOg Irish dancing school Germany! I suppose you could say dancing has been and is my life!

What Irish things do I play, dance, say, sing or other:: I have a fiddle, bodhran, tin whistle and Guitar and can just about manage to play one simple tune on each, Its not something for the public though... trust me!

Oh, and sometimes, if you get me with a few beers inside I like to belt out some songs... again, this should be handled with great care, probably best suited to the shower...

Favorite Music: Even though I listen to it everyday I am still a big fan of Traditional Irish music, love the new stuff!

After a long and stressful day of classes, when the last thing I want to hear is a fiddle or an accordian I like to listen to some "normal" music but hate most pop and have a life mission to get rid of all hip hop / rap music in the world... hate it...Anything other than those two Genres are ok by me ;-)

How many years have you been Irish dancing?: 19 years (wow... that makes me sound old...)

Favourite Irish Dance Show: Riverdance and Dancing thru the ages of course ;-)

So, I am the other third of the Diddlyi team. My brother, Becky and I are excited to see the membership increase and we hope to make this a great site for Irish dancers all across the world...Make sure to invite all your friends to be a part of Diddlyi!

I am an Irish dancer who is now living in Munich, Germany. I have been living here for over five years now teaching with the Tir na nOg Irish dancing school. Although I am based here I still travel a lot and teach in our various locations including Russia and Poland. I love the way I can do what I love as a career and seeing the growth of Irish dancing on the European continent over the past few years really inspires me and keeps me motivated to keep going.

So if you have any ideas / suggestions let us know and dont forget to say hi!!!

Stagefire - Here we go again!!!

Still got that "New year, New goals, New hopes" feelin'?

Hey!

It is extremely hard to believe but we are now actually heading speedily towards the end of January 2010! It feels like only yesterday when the fireworks were flying, champagne was flowing and people were happily counting in the new year with that feeling of freshness that comes with saying goodbye to the old and hello to the new year!

It's a balancing act...

Anyway, your story is really inspiring. Even though you all didn't place, I think the Moscow team is one of the best ceili teams I've ever watched. My best friend, who was born in Russia and came to America when she as five, used to do Irish dance about two years ago but had to stop. She still does other styles of dance. She was really impressed by your Russian team and was so inspired by their love of Irish dance in such an opressive country, and was also very inspired by your willingness to teach there.
