I know lots of you have been busy inviting all your friends to Diddlyi. This is great, as the more we invite, the better Diddlyi gets!
We thought it would be a great idea to spread the word about Diddlyi in other ways too. We came up with these ideas, but we would love to hear your creative ways too.
Here is a poster that you can easily print out and put up in your school, or around your area:…

I have been taking private lessons on top of the many hours a week I already dance to try to improve my trebbels, and various other hard shoe techniques. I got to the studio right at 4:30pm on a Sunday when the lesson was scheduled and no one was there! The door was locked, there was no one around. This pissed me off a tad because I had come home from visiting friends out of town early in order to make it to dance. I also had someone else call me to make plans for that time but I turned them…

Yes, baboons...aka Keegan, Conner, and Kalum. O.k so they are my kids not baboons but the line in thin :) My boys are aged 7, 5 and 3 and they make dancing on my own a trying process. More trying than it already is!
When they aren't trying to run circles around me while I dance they are off getting onto trouble, and 3 boys can make alot of trouble in a very short period of time..believe me!
I love my boys and as hard as it is to dance around them I wouldn't have it any other…

Hi Everybody!!! Thanks for your welcome greetings..
Mi Name is Lisandro and I'm an Irish Dancer from La Plata, which is the Capital City of the Province of Buenos Aires.
As many young people here in Argentina, I've first heard about Irish Dances because of Lord of the Dance. In my english school some teachers organized a ' Lord of the Dance Festival' and I (who was 11 years old) played the part of Michael Flatley. hahaha. Thank's God that there is no tape of that festival. After…

There are more and more Irish Dancing School Groups being started every day on Diddlyi.
Now it's time to fill them all!
If your School Group has the most members by the end of June, we are going to create a special feature right here on Diddlyi
showcasing your School to the World! We are also going to give everyone in that group who buys a Diddlyi t-shirt
a free t-shirt! So the more people in the…

I just wanted to write a comment (and try out this journal as well). I just wanted to say that my first impression of this site is that everyone is very nice and welcoming. I am also happy to find a large diversity in the age ranges of the people on the site. I am extatic to find Irish Dancers in my age group (20's) as well, as where I am from, there aren't very many 20 somethings who still take or compete in Irish dance. I have been a dancer for many years in other disciplines but I very…

Hi all,
my work might take me to Marseilles for more or less two weeks in May (hopefully finishing just in time for me to attend the workshop in Rognac - I'm not 100% sure yet if I will attend it, but being already in the area would definitely help!;)). I work as a cabin crew, so accomodation close to the airport would be ideal, but even if you live within 1 hour distance from it, and are willing to share your house with a fellow Diddlier, please drop me a message:) any details to be…

As of the beggining of March, I no longer take dance lessons, and there really isn't much I can do about practicing what I already know. I miss dance so much already!! *crycry! I didn't get to say goodbye to a lot of my friends, either, becaus they were all gone my last dance class. I can't believe how much I took dancing for granted. This is probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.

Today and tomorrow we have our ISAT tests. (Idaho Standard Achievement Test) They take about an hour each. PLUS today I have Challenge so I can't take my reading ISAT until I get back. Tomorrow's one of the hardest, math. Next Thursday is Language Arts and next Friday is the WORST one, science. This totally stinks. Help me!!!!

Well I was checking out EBay the other day as usual, and low and behold who should I see but my Irish dance teacher in her beautiful Irish Dance Solo Dress "Siopa Rinca Teo".
Her brother is selling it for her on Ebay. It was so expensive bought for $1,800 in 2005, but, alas it's Size 7-8, Bust 36, waist 31, bodice 16, skirt 16, sleeves 22, and shoulder to shoulder 14 1/2 and I am a size 13.
The starting bid is $400 but it is worth so much more.
I love her dress. I…

After another week long dance workshop im back in Darwin!
This time the workshop was in Adelaide at the Adelaide Irish dance Academy. I learnt a bus load of new dances and steps, i also met heaps of other dancers (to be expected haha). Im hoping to now focus on perfecting my new open/int reel in preparation for my first Feis! (Either this year or next year, depends on Year 12 school work) I really like the steps and the movements in my reel, i finally have a dance with a revolution in it…
