Another injury...

Here we go again! First a sprained ankle, then I sprained the other ankle, and now I tore my medial meniscus in my right knee! For those of us who have no idea what that is, the medial meniscus is a shock-absorbing piece of cartledge right by your knee cap. You actually have two, one on each side of the knee cap, and I tore the medial one which is the one on the inside of my knee.
I have no clue how I did it! lol. As far as I know, it was not a dance related injury. They think it might be related to JRA, Juvinille Rhumitoid Arthritis, excuse my horrible spelling, that I had when I was younger. I've been in remission for about 10 years now, but they think it has to do with the softening of the cartledge in my knee that happened when I was younger.
HOPEFULLY I will not need surgery. I read online that one of the major reasons they won't do surgery is if it is tied in with Arthritis. The doctor said that a Cortazone (sp?) shot is also an option depending on how bad the tear is. After I go and get my MRI, they should give me the list of options.
Though, the most depressing part about this whole thing is that I will have to miss even more dance! I had just recovered my ankles, and then this happened. Bye bye Oireachtas :(
