Wow, its been so long since I've been on diddlyi and looking back on what I left up for everyone to see is just embarresing. I was looking through my pictures and oh my gosh I have changed so much that I didn't see the use in keeping them up then I was looking at my journal posts and they where horrible! (Not that this one is that much better).
Its been so long and I've done so much relating to Irish dance this summer and this years Irish Step dancing lessons are starting tomorrow which just happens to be the 1 year anniversary of my love for the fine art. Well At the end of 7th grade I had missed alot of my Irish step classes due to my mom's illness (hypotyroid) and I thought I would have to repeat but I made the cut and preformed my beginers reel in front of my dance-mates and their families. It was actually fun but a bit scary being under the spotlight, although throughout the years I've realized that I do alot better under pressure then I do when I'm preforming in front of my teacher. This summer I took a Irish Step camp that lasted 2 hours everyday for 2 weeks (except for Saturday and Sunday), I was a bit ahead of the class and got to begin on my beginer's jig (jump-hop back, jump-hop back, jump, jump, jump, jump-hop back: I think it goes something like that but I'm probaly doing a dreadful job at explaining it). I preformed the first step in fornt of the class with a 4 year old which was kind of fun and funny all at the same time. Now I'm going to the next level (My school goes by color so I'm advancing from red to blue.) tomorrow. It should be fun.
I even think I'm going to be starting hardshoe at some point this year which is amazing! Something else that I wanted to share is that I recently found out I had crazy muscels on my calves which was pretty obvious to everyone else except me. My best friend who is majorly up on fitness nearly slapped me for thinking that it was just "abnormally placed flab". Which brings me to some semi-not-so-Irish-Step-dancing-related news (say that 10 times fast whew). I want to get nicely toned and thin so I'm doing strength training and cardio which is sort of nice. I've done cardio before but I've never done strength training untill today and boy am I sore. I know thats a bit off topic but I just felt like sharing because I'm proud. The most important thing I wanted to share is that I'm back in Maryland and going to (once again) a different school which isn't half bad.
Well enjoy your weekend and holiday
