Diddlyi Irish Dance and Music

I wish my first journal post could be cheerier. This is really hard for me to write right now. I'm kind of between crying jags at the moment.

There was a car accident this evening involving 4 girls from my high school, one boy in middle school, and one girl in elementary school. I found out about it at the dinner where I was supposed to get inducted into the National Honor Society. News is sketchy at the moment. Makenzie and Danielle are sophomores like me. It looks like Makenzie will be alright. Danielle is not breathing on her own. Bri (a junior), Grant (8th grade), and Grace (3rd or 4th grade) were in the school play with me just last month. Bri and Grant will probably be alright. We have no news on Grace, other than that she had to be cut out of the car. I even taught her some Irish dancing while we were bored backstage. Jaclyn, a junior, did not make it. Jaclyn was two seats away from me in biology, and it seems like I was over at her table every day to tell her what she was looking at in the microscope. Just yesterday I had tell her if she was looking at a monocot or dicot plant. She forgot to do her homework last night, and I gave her some of the answers to our worksheet today during class so she wouldn't get a 0.

Please pray for all the kids involved, and my classmates, myself, and everyone at my school. Tomorrow is going to be a rough day.

I'm glad to hear that, Bethany! We had a tragedy at my school recently and I definitely understand.

Hi! All the other kids did survive, thank God. Danielle, who couldn't breathe on her own after the accident, was our prom queen. Everyone misses Jaclyn dearly, but people are getting through it and keeping her memory alive. The community is slowly recovering. My high school started a safe driving awareness group that is getting statewide recognition, and no other kids from my school have been in severe car accidents since. Everything is getting better, and we are starting to see some good come from this tragedy <3

Hi Bethany I'm terribly sorry I didn't read this until now but I hope with all my heart as do all who have heard this tragic story that those kids and the community have have recovered and stayed strong through this time. My prayers and thoughts are always with you and if you ever have time Could you possibly tell us if all the kids were okay?
God Bless,
Jasmine <3 <3

So sorry to hear this

I knw this song has been a comfort to many in times of hurt and pain. We just pray for the families and friends involved in this who are left to pick up the pieces and mend the broken hearts. May Gods grace touch and comfort them in this time of tragedy

Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

Blessed Be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be'
Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name

Bethany, I so sorry to hear about your news. It will be a difficult time for all involved-family, friends and teachers. Find comfort in those you love and discuss your feelings. I remember losing a very dear friend when I was in middle school. It took awhile to make sense of it and to be able to focus again. We will keep your friends in our thoughts and prayers. Take care. Ok I have some updates.

Danielle is in critical condition, but is awake and responsive. However, she has a trach and a tube in each lung so she can't talk. Her splene is also a mess, and she still has some internal bleeding. Her jaw is broken on both sides as well as the bone beneath her eyes. She was very lucky. Apparently she was thrown from the truck she was in and it rolled over on her. Luckily, because we've had a lot of rain lately, she sank into the ground and was not crushed.

Makenzie is in serious condition, and is awake and alert. She has a broken pelvis and 3 broken ribs, which seem to have caused some kidney problems.

Bri was released from the hospital last night with a broken ankle. She is physically in good condition, but not emotionally.

Grant is in fair condition. He has a broken wrist.

We don't have much for sure on Gracie, other than that she may have a spinal injury. She is in serious condition.

We had lots of clergy and counselors at school today to help everyone through it. Many of the teachers were as broken up about it as the students. It was mostly hugging and crying. I've never seen students mixing like this. People who are in totally different groups and who have never spoken more than a few words to each other are hugging and comforting each other like they have been friends forever. It's a shame that something like this has to happen for people to come together like this. :(

Oh Bethany, this is so sad! You are all so young to be experiencing such a tragedy! Is there anymore news on their condition? hopefully good news. I hope you got through the day ok although it must've been very hard. Keep talking to your friends about this! It's easier to bear this tragedy with other people around you to support and comfort you. And even in hard times like now, remember things eventually always get better.
