Does anyone know the requirments to advance to each level of Irish? (begginer, begginer 2, novice, prizewinner, open)

Comment by Em M. on June 18, 2011 at 10:34pm everything Ginny said is true but some different regions have different rules. for example, in my region you only need a first in a hardshoe and a softshoe dance to move from open prizewinner to prelim. in another region, you need three firsts in prelim to move to open champs. it all depends on what region you dance in so to be absolutely sure about the requirements i would check your regions rules. :D

Comment by Ginny on June 17, 2011 at 6:10pm You start as a beginner. After competing as a Beginner for one calendar year, you can move up to Advanced Beginner/Beginner 2. If you get a first, second, or third in that level; you move up to Novice in that dance. If you are fully in Novice and get a first, you can move up to Open Prizewinner in that dance. If you are fully in Open Prizewinner and have received firsts in all your dances, you can move up to Preliminary Champion. If you win two firsts in that level, you can move up to Open Champion.
